Will a Stretch Wrapper replace my friend’s job?
The company I work for is looking at getting rid of our old semi-automatic stretch wrapper, and replacing it with one of these new fully automatic ones. I’m not sure how I feel about this, I mean anything that makes my life easier is a good thing and all that, but I get a bit worried for the guys I work with. For a couple of them, a main part of their job is manning the stretch wrapper as the pallets are filled by the cartons coming off the production line. I hope they’re going to be OK, I guess we’ll always need somebody to load up the rolls of stretch film on to the stretch wrapper, but that’s a pretty small job. I guess only time will tell….
