Most people know that the body requires energy in order to function properly which is why we eat food in the first place. There are two main types of energy that the body uses as an energy source, carbohydrates and fats.

Generally speaking, when we need short bursts of energy and the body needs to perform its daily activities the body mainly uses the energy from carbohydrate foods. When there is a shortage of carbohydrate energy the body will look at its fat storage in the body in order to get the energy it needs to perform the activity it is trying to perform. It is important to eat a variety of foods that contain al types of energy including carbohydrates and fats, fruits and vegetables.

Of course, you should consume in moderation and try not to take in more than your body needs on a daily basis or it will result in fat storage and weight gain.
